During my time in the health and fitness industry I've been asked numerous times what the best 'fat burning foods' are. This is a particularly controversial topic, the more you research online the more conflicting opinion you're likely to come across. It's important to establish from the outset that even the existence of 'foods that burn fat' is debatable. Most people have heard that green tea has some fat burning properties, and foods that burn fat are spicy, or hot. But what's the real science behind all this? Are there foods that can really burn fat away?
If you research the topic you'll find a number of people in the 'it's all just a gimmick' camp. These people are primarily those who believe 'a calorie is a calorie', that it doesn't matter what 'fat burning foods' you eat, arguing overall calorie intake is the only important variable at the end of the day. They are to an extent justified in their skepticism. They are also correct to an extent that overall calories are an important element of the fat loss puzzle. However, for optimum body composition, you're not going to get very far by just concentrating on total calorie intake. It's also important to obtain calories from the appropriate sources, at the appropriate times.
When actually delving into the controlled scientific research on this topic it's apparent that some of the reported 'fat burning' benefits of specific foods are genuine. For instance, there is a thermogenic effect from spicy foods such as hot pepper. It's the capsaicin specifically, in the hot pepper, that this effect is derived from. Does this mean we should all start pouring hot pepper over every meal? Well no, not really. Unless of course, you're a massive fan of hot pepper and already have it on your breakfast cereal. By all means, if this is the case, who am I to stop you?

Don't Search for the Perfect Diet Plan, Search for the One You Can Keep Up With!
Everyone knows that every program is full of promises, but when it comes to actually delivering it, most of them fail miserably. But that is a good thing to know, if you know it; it will help you when selecting the one that actually works.
Probably the one thing that drove you towards taking action is the bad feeling when you take a look at your body and aren't content with what you're seeing. But sometimes, the opposite happens when you're in a situation that requires hard work. All of a sudden you lose all motivation that you had accumulated and go back to the ways of the past, because the exercising simply seems too hard. It's tempting, I know, but you don't need me to tell you what happens if you give in.
It's also important to come to terms with some things. Are you truly prepared to do whatever it takes to achieve the desired results? Are you more of a diet kind of guy or do you prefer exercising? Well, as far as the last one goes, it's important to know that for the best possible results you should always combine both and not get overly focused on one weight loss method exclusively. But still, there are some people who tend to do more of the first and some more of the second. All of that doesn't matter, as long as you keep doing it through good and hard times.

Dieting Foods To Avoid - The Myths
It seems that there are so many ways to lose weight. But there's also so much confusion. Anytime a person enters the internet, in order to find answers regarding this issue, there's so much information coming on him. The result is a mess of ideas that often contradict and make no sense at all.
For example, the known rule of eating fewer calories than what your body burns, makes perfect sense. But even for this basic rule there are exceptions. If you eat 1500 calories of made chocolate each day, will you lose weight? Maybe, but it will probably ruin something else in your body. The conclusion is that a more thorough understanding of losing weight is needed to be acquired. Here I'll dispute many wrong myths that are considered true for such a long time.
To cut weight, you can skip meals
If you skip meals, your body will think that you're trying to starve it. As being such an effective machine, it will turn into "starvation mode" or "lose as low calories as possible", and will slow down your metabolism process. Also, it will start consuming your muscles for the protein it needs. This way, you will be losing your fit looks, less muscle mass in your body will also cause a slower metabolism, you will feel hungry, and on your next meal you'll probably overeat.
