Take a look at yourself in the mirror. Do it now. Go look. After you go look, come back and continue reading. Did you like what you saw in the mirror? If so, that's great. You may close this article right now. However, if you were not pleased with what you saw in the mirror, I have a few suggestions for you. Is it your body weight that you were not pleased with? If you are not pleased with your body weight, there are a few things you can do to achieve your desired weight. First of all, stop eating junk food. Secondly, drink the adequate amount of water and follow a healthy diet plan. Thirdly, exercise for about ninety minutes each and every day. If you do the following, you will be pleased with the reflection of yourself in the mirror.
Many people like eating junk food. They like eating food from McDonald's and other fast food places. They like eating donuts, candy, chips, and other stuff that is not healthy for them. That food is readily available. It takes no time to cook it. People prefer that type of food because they can purchase it fast and eat it even faster. Those people who eat that type of food may or may not be aware of the health effects those foods will have on them. Those who do not now are excused. But those who do know, are just in denial, thinking that a little burger and some fries will not hurt them. My friends, that junk food is bad for you. Whether you eat a little of it, and definitely if you eat a lot. Your goal should be to cut out that food completely. That food is not good for you, it might even lead to your death if you do not stop eating it soon. Eat other foods that are healthier for you. Follow a better diet plan.

Getting Rid Of Menopausal Belly Fat After Age 50
Each phase of our life brings new challenges. For women over fifty, one of the challenges may be described as stubborn fat around the abdominal area. With our metabolism slowing down naturally with age, more sedentary lifestyles, and increasing hormonal changes due to menopause, we tend to store more fat around the waistline. The good news is that this fat can be lessened, but it takes a combination of lifestyle changes and dedication to keep it from coming back.
Unfortunately, muscle mass gradually diminishes with age, so fat increases in the percentage of your total body weight. With less muscle mass, the rate at which your body uses calories, or your metabolism slows. When you take in more calories than you burn, fat increases. If you consume the same number of calories that you did when you were younger and more active, and you lead a more sedentary lifestyle, you will store fat. Factors that influence how much energy you burn are genetic and hormonal. Women experiencing menopause will produce more estrogen, because the cells are alerted to the fact that the ovaries are not producing enough. This results in cells storing fat in order to produce more estrogen. When the estrogen is produced, your metabolism slows, and the fat cells are not transformed into energy. You are left with stubborn belly fat.
Abdominal fat just below the skin is subcutaneous fat. It is of cosmetic concern, but does not pose health issues necessarily. Visceral fat lies deep inside the abdomen, surrounding the body's internal organs. An excessive amount of visceral fat produces hormones that can raise blood pressure, alter cholesterol levels, and possibly make the body insulin resistant, resulting in type 2 diabetes. Excessive amounts of either type of fat will increase estrogen levels, and may cause cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer. You cannot change the aging process, or genetic factors, but there are things that you can do to get rid of belly fat, and keep it off after age fifty.
Because your metabolism is slower with age, you do not need as many calories per day, so cut back on your caloric intake. The United States Department of Agriculture specifies that people over fifty only need from 1600-2000 calories daily. If you start with a good breakfast, and less calories more often, this seems to help. When you eat more often, you trick your body by not giving your hormones a chance to signal to your brain that you are hungry. Also, smaller meals more frequently keeps your blood sugar levels stable. You will be receiving the same number of calories, only at different intervals. A crash diet will cause your body to store more fat for later, because your metabolism will slow further since your body signals that you need nourishment, so it would defeat the purpose. Improved diets include eating more whole grains, plant based foods, fruits and vegetables, and cutting back on foods high in cholesterol, saturated fats and sugar. If you eliminate any of these foods however, your body will be signaled, and more fat will be stored, so do not stop eating.

Homer Sacrifices Beloved Doughnuts to Eliminate His Fat Belly
You can call it love. You can also call it infatuation, addiction, or just plain stupidity. Homer cannot get enough doughnuts. If you ask the man to pick up a 6-pack on the way to the party, he will question how many glazed you want with that? Yet, he is now a middle-aged man with an extremely fat belly. It is time for Homer to tear up his Frequent-Doughnut-Card, and start taking better care of his body. As the boy constantly reminds him, he is not getting any younger, and his stomach is not growing any thinner. When it comes to Homer's health, doughnuts are the enemy.
Since the Dutch introduced doughnuts to the US in the Nineteenth Century, they are now usually made with holes to easily be dunked into coffee. These days, Homer can devour half-a-dozen doughnuts with any one cup of java. The fried pastries could be consumed for breakfast, lunch or dinner and anytime in-between, thanks to the modern invention of 24-hour drive-throughs. He never cared that each glazed doughnut to go into his fat belly contains between 175 and 250 calories. Every adored jelly or cream-filled doughnut has even more calories, passing the 300 calorie mark.

Fight The Belly Fat
Does it seem with each year you get older you continue to pack on more pounds a lot easier than you did when you were younger? Do you have an obscene amount of belly fat that just won't go away? This article will help open your eyes to why this happens, especially as you get older and closer to menopause.
The primary cause for this gain in the abdominal area is due to insulin resistance. It's very simple if your diet is sparse on protein but high in refined carbohydrates, sweets, and diet soft drinks, you are going to store fat at an accelerated rate around the abdomen. And no, low-fat desserts and snacks do not help with this at all.
A higher than necessary carbohydrate diet also causes afternoon exhaustion, increased food cravings around 4pm, irritability, even depression, bloating and water retention. By simply cutting your carbohydrate consumption to breakfast and lunch; keeping it to whole grains, sprouted grains, items that have low glycemic index will help to combat the bulge. Now, I am not saying not to have carbs at all because they do help provide the body with energy, and important vitamins and minerals they just need to be consumed in moderation and with protein to off-set the reaction carbohydrates have on the body. As you get older your body becomes insulin resistant even quicker and easier than it did in the past. That's why you may have been able to get away with eating that way 10 years ago, but now it is coming to bite you in the butt.
So how do you combat this?
1) Eat Protein. Include a protein source in every meal. Protein is muscle and brain fuel and without it we lose muscle mass, reduce metabolism, and gain weight.
2) Eliminate Sugar. Not just sweets, but also processed and refined carbohydrates that have high glycemic indexes.
3) Eat fruits and Veggies. Aim for 5 servings of veggies and 2 servings of fruit a day.
4) Drink Water. Drink 8-10 ounces a day. Water speeds up metabolism, wakes you up, prevents injuries, reduces wrinkles, and eliminates headaches.
5) Incorporate Good Fats. Include small amounts of good fat a day, handful of nuts, or a tablespoon of olive oil. Good fats keep you satiated longer, and improves skin and hair.
